Twin Ports Falls Prevetion Coalition
| Vision
| TPFPC will be recognized as the proactive force to preventing falls in the Northland. |
| Goal
| The TPFPC's goal is to decrease the number and severity of falls in our community. We seek to teach older adults and their caregivers how to decrease their risk of falling so a person's independence can be maintained. We will educate professionals on how to enhance their practice in order to foster this independent living by preventing falls. |
| The Coalition
| The Twin Ports Falls Prevention Coalition was started in response to the alarming statistics regarding falls in our area Funds from a small Minnesota Falls Prevention grant were used to bring the group together. The original group committed to three meetings. They looked at the real/statistical impact of falls in the Twin Ports area, they evaluated the current programs being offered, and they assessed the gaps in service. This process allowed them to identify five areas for growth.
